Nerissa is a 200 hour trained and certified yoga teacher under the guidance of Erica Blitz, director of Inquire + Inspire www.ericablitz.com. Inquire and Inspire is a registered Yoga Alliance program including Teaching Methodology, Anatomy, Philosophy, Ethics and more. An intensive, experiential and practical program, it includes balance between all of the left-brain learning (alignment, anatomy, sequencing) and the right brain (meditation, philosophy, connection); the balance between both the science and art of yoga. The anatomy is structured as it applies to yoga asana - towards helping students understand their own alignment and injuries and also how they can best serve students. The ancient teachings of yoga philosophy is honoured and applied to modern day life to make yoga relevant for ourselves and our students.
Nerissa will be launching her Yoga for Busy Moms and Musicians from February 2017.
Advance Bookings is highly recommended - see below.

There are many ways that musicians can benefit from yoga and develop awareness both mentally and physically.
Playing an instrument can be physically demanding and where muscular tension and injuries can increase in anticipation for an upcoming performance. The tailored yoga sequences will include specific strengthening and stretching exercises to help make your wrist, shoulder, neck stay mobile and stress free while building physical awareness so that your body isn't in compromised positions.
Nerissa says breathing and yoga can also ease performance anxiety and points to improved focus, concentration, and being calm in the moment as the audience watch you perform. When you are stressed you hold your breath, and tension builds up. In this class, you will learn breathing exercises and how to ground your nervous system prior to a live performance.
